Gabi, whose life was described as "in pieces", most certainly is. Although the pages are jam-packed with dark drama (such as teen pregnancy, coming out, and drug abuse), it was a struggle to finish. Everything happens during her senior year, which I found a bit unrealistic and overwhelming because although possible, it's hard to imagine that all of this could happen in one school year.

Quintero created a story that demonstrated the struggles that most teenagers might come across during their everyday life. It is a powerful book to read, especially if someone has more privileges than most. My only problem was the fast pace, but if you can get over that it is a book worth checking out.
